I am currently a 3rd year PhD student in computer science working on the fields of Virtual Reality (VR), social interactions and non-verbal communication. I have an interest in using these domains to create immersive and collaborative experiences. My thesis work, funded by the b<>com research institute, aims to assess and improve collaboration in VR, by generating non-verbal behaviors on avatars. I explore the possibilities of mimetic reproduction of non-verbal behavior as well as the exploitation of VR capabilities to overcome the possibilities of unmediated social interactions.
